Welcome
Welcome to my photoblog. I try to keep it updated daily with a new photo from either my personal or professional life. It is not intended to be taken as my professional portfolio (please visit the main website for that), but instead it is more of an informal and fun way for me to share some of my personality and creativity with you. Many of the photos on my blog are available for purchase as fine art prints, please visit the main website and/or contact me if you are interested. Enjoy!

I am sorry, but my post tonight might be delayed until tomorrow because Blogger will not let me attach a photo to my post. They are having issues, and as soon as it's fixed I'll pop my post up here.
Thanks!

Carleton University Butterfly Show 2011
Sorry, there is no photo of the day today, but instead I bring you some of my shots from the Carleton University Butterfly Show 2011. This year I decided to go on the first day of the event, which happened to be this past Saturday. Unfortunately, it seems everyone else in Ottawa had the same idea. The place was packed, which made being in the perfect spot for photography almost impossible. I also really wanted to get some great macro shots, so I ended up using my Kenko Extension Tubes the whole time, but in doing so I ended up going TOO macro and some of the butterflies would not entirely fit in the viewfinder. I should have also stopped down a lot more to get much more depth of field. If I get a chance I'll have to go back when there are less people to get some more shots, but for now here are some of the ones I was happy with.
Main Website Is LIVE!
Fernando Matias Photography's main website (www.fmatiasphotography.ca) has gone LIVE! I finally put the finishing touches on the website, and feel that it is now good enough and bug free enough to release it. Feel free to have a look, and I would appreciate any comments you may have about the new site (good or bad). If you encounter any bugs I would also appreciate a quick notification on how it happened and what browser you were using. You can contact me on our new Contact page!
Enjoy Everyone!
