Maternity Photoshoot Sneak Peek

I had a very fun maternity photoshoot with Maram today over at Major's Hill Park! The weather was perfect for a shoot, with a fair bit of sun but also some very light cloud cover to diffuse it. Maram was absolutely glowing, and had a great little baby bump! Here is a quick sneak peek at just one of the great shots we took. Congrats again Maram!

Powerful Storm

We just had a crazy thunder/wind/rain storm pass through Ottawa about 2 hours ago. The wind was quite fierce in my neighbourhood, and the power went out for about 20mins. After the storm I went out for a bit with my gear, and just happened across a few downed trees very close to my place. Great Cormorant Lookout - Colour vs Black and White?

Today's shot for the "Photo a Day" project is called Great Cormorant Lookout. While processing this image I thought it might look good in black and white, but then I could not decide which version of the shot I liked better. I really like the shot in colour, but I think the black and white brings your attention more towards the Great Cormorant (the subject). Which do you prefer? Leave me a comment below.

UPDATE: I had a few people ask for a muted tones version of the shot to compare, well here it is. I let only 30% of the colour come through on this.
