I decided on this shot as our winner because of the amazing lighting, depth of field, and composition. The only editing done on the photo by Jeffrey was a slight crop to remove a distracting element, the stem of another flower. The lighting was achieved by using a tiny flash light under and to the right of the flower. The exposure is perfect in my opinion, to give it a glowing, dreamy look. The focus on the pestle is nice and sharp and the depth of field drops off very nicely to make the pedals soft. Below is the exif info for the shot. Congrats Jeffrey, and enjoy your prize!

Thank you Fernando,
ReplyDeleteI had a lot of fun taking this photo at 2 in the morning with only the aid of tiny tripod and “Double A” powered flashlight. It took me two shots to achieve this result straight out of the camera. Thanks again for the kind words and contest prize! I like your blog!
